Manchester United coach talks about choosing a new team captain
Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag has explained why he entrusted midfielder Scott McTominay with the captain's armband.
According to the Dutch coach, this football player deserves great respect and is an ardent fan of the team.
"He is an example of what it means to play for Manchester United, to play with this symbolism in the heart. I am sure that he will become a communicator and an example of passion and desire," journalist Fabrizio Romano quotes ten Hag as saying.
McTominay came through the Manchester United academy and joined the main team in the summer of 2017.
In total, the 27-year-old footballer played 228 matches for Manchester United, scoring 25 goals and making six assists.
