Manchester City faces a two-week hiatus following the match against Newcastle on January 13th, up until the game against Burnley on January 31st. Pep Guardiola plans to take the entire team to Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, the homeland of the team's owner, Sheikh Mansour. This trip is aimed at preparing for the continuation of the season in the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League. City aims to replicate the incredible success achieved last year when they clinched five trophies.

After the Sheffield United match on Saturday, Guardiola remarked:

"Following Newcastle, if possible, we'll head to Abu Dhabi. Last season, we were there during the Club World Cup, and it had a tremendous impact on the staff and the entire team. Five titles prove that. We trained there, and the weather was better. We plan to train together there to prepare the team for the second part of the season."

At the end of 2022, City traveled to Abu Dhabi after their defeat to Brentford. Guardiola and the players who were not involved in the World Cup took advantage of the opportunity to rejuvenate in the Persian Gulf country, yielding the desired effect. City managed to clinch the required victories. Furthermore, the team triumphed in all competitions in which they participated. Manchester City currently lags in the title race this season and intends to use this break to refine tactics and enhance team cohesion.
