Manchester City preparing Guardiola replacement
Pep Guardiola has yet to give a definitive answer on whether he will stay in Manchester, so the City management has lined up a replacement in case their partnership with the Spaniard comes to an end.
Details: According to Nicolo Schira, Manchester City has reached an agreement with a new head coach for a long-term contract. Should Guardiola depart, the team will be led by former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca. The journalist reports that the contract is expected to run until the summer of 2028, with an option to extend for another season.
The 46-year-old Italian's previous post was at London club Chelsea, from which he was dismissed following disagreements with the board. During his tenure with the Blues, Maresca won the Europa Conference League as well as the FIFA Club World Cup, showcasing an exciting brand of combination football.
