Rulli is on the verge of a City comeback.

Details: Manchester City have taken their first official step towards signing Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli. According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the English club has already submitted an initial official offer to the French side for the Argentine keeper's transfer.

Negotiations between the clubs are underway, with both parties discussing potential terms of the deal. While the specifics of the offer remain undisclosed, City's interest in Rulli is clear and concrete.

Interestingly, this could be a return to Manchester City for the 34-year-old goalkeeper. Rulli was previously part of the English club's system from 2016 to 2017, but did not make a single official appearance for the first team during that stint. He later left City for Real Sociedad in a €7 million move, where he managed to reignite his career.

According to Romano, talks are in an advanced stage. If an agreement is reached, Rulli could rejoin Manchester City nearly a decade later—this time as a seasoned goalkeeper with a wealth of international experience.

Geronimo Rulli's market value is estimated at €6 million by Transfermarkt.
