Manchester City Officially Condemn Racist Abuse Targeting Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guéhi After Everton Draw
Manchester City have strongly condemned the racist abuse directed at Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guéhi following their 3-3 draw with Everton on Monday night at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Semenyo was subjected to racist insults during the match, while Guéhi became the target of abusive and discriminatory messages on social media after the game.
In an official statement released on Monday, Manchester City expressed their firm stance against all forms of discrimination.
"Manchester City strongly condemns the racist abuse directed towards Antoine Semenyo at yesterday’s match.
We welcome the swift action taken by Everton and the police to identify the individual responsible.
We are also incredibly disappointed to hear that Marc Guéhi was subject to a series of vile racist social media posts last night.
We will continue to offer our full support to both Antoine and Marc and never accept discrimination of any kind in our game."
