Manchester City is close to securing the acquisition of an Argentine wonderkid dubbed as new Messi

Manchester City is nearing the purchase of 17-year-old River Plate midfielder Claudio Echeverri, as reported by the reputable football insider Fabrizio Romano.
The Citizens are set to pay over 20 million euros for the Argentine wonderkid's transfer. The deal will also include various bonuses that River Plate may receive in the future.
It's anticipated that Echeverri will remain with his current team on loan until the summer before joining Manchester City.
City faces competition from Barcelona, who has also initiated talks for the talented player's transfer. Additionally, Italian clubs Milan and Inter, along with Real Madrid and PSG, are eyeing the midfielder.
In 22 matches for Argentina's U-17 team, the midfielder scored 12 goals and provided 5 assists. Notably, in the quarterfinals of the previous Youth World Cup, Argentina defeated Brazil thanks to Echeverri's hat-trick.
It's worth noting that Echeverri has only played six matches for River Plate's senior team, contributing with one assist.
