Manchester City is interested in Fulham midfielder

Manchester City has shown interest in Fulham and Portuguese national team player João Palhinha, willing to pay £50 million for his services, as reported by the Daily Star. The club is eyeing him as a potential replacement for Calvin Phillips, who is contemplating an exit from the team.

Phillips has exhibited promising performances at the start of the season and even secured a place in the starting lineup for the final Champions League match against Red Star, where he scored his debut goal in Europe's premier club tournament. However, the Englishman is discontent with his limited game time and is considering leaving the club. Reports suggest interest from Newcastle, Juventus, and Manchester United. According to sources, Calvin could depart Manchester City during the upcoming winter transfer window.

On the other hand, João Palhinha was very close to joining Bayern Munich during the summer, but the deal fell through at the last minute of the transfer window. Despite missing the opportunity to sign the midfield star, the Bundesliga champions remain interested. Bayern is also linked with Phillips, and if they manage to sign the English international, it would pave the way for Fulham's star to join the "Citizens."

Additionally, Manchester City retains an interest in Fluminense's star André, and if they miss out on Palhinha, they might attempt to secure his signature. This potential deal is estimated to cost around £30 million.
