Manchester City have opened transfer talks with Premier League club over defender
Despite the presence of Josko Guardiol and Nathan Ake at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola wants to deploy a more attacking option on the left flank of the defence. That is what the reigning English champions have found in Wolverhampton.
Wolves player Rayan Ait-Nouri is also being watched by Arsenal and Liverpool, but according to FootballTransfers the 22-year-old defender is closer to a move to Manchester City thanks to the club's warm relationship with the Algerian's agent Jorge Mendes.
Ait-Nouri has managed to beat off competition for a move to the Etihad from Fulham player Anthony Robinson, also through the fact that he absolutely fits the profile that Guardiola is looking for.
Wolverhampton value the Algerian at €70 million and the same source admits that City player Sergio Gomez could go to Molineux as part of the transfer, along with cash.
