Manchester City's primary goalkeeper, Ederson, is likely to leave the club next summer, as his negotiations with Al-Ittihad are already at an advanced stage.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, if Ederson's departure is finalized, the club will not seek a replacement in the transfer market. His current backup, Stefan Ortega, will take his place.

Last season, Ederson sustained several injuries, and Ortega provided excellent cover in his absence. Notably, Ortega's saves were crucial in the final stretch of the season, playing a decisive role in securing the Premier League title.

Stefan Ortega joined Manchester City in the summer of 2022 from Arminia Bielefeld on a free transfer. He has played a total of 34 matches for the English champions, conceding 27 goals.

On August 10, Manchester City will kick off the new season with the English Super Cup match against Manchester United.
