Central midfielder for West Ham and the Brazilian national team, Lucas Paqueta, has moved even closer to joining Manchester City next summer.
According to Foot Mercato, the English champions have agreed on contract terms with Paqueta. To complete the deal, Manchester City needs to negotiate the transfer fee with West Ham.
Acquiring Paqueta is a desire of Manchester City's head coach, Pep Guardiola. He wanted the Brazilian to replace Ilkay Gundogan last summer, but the clubs couldn't agree on the price at that time.
Paqueta himself will request West Ham to release him to Manchester City as he wants to play in the Champions League.
Paqueta joined West Ham in the summer of 2022 from Lyon for 43 million euros. In the current season, he has scored 8 goals and provided 7 assists in 36 matches across all competitions.
