Manchester City has secured the signature of a young Argentine talent
Manchester City is on the verge of finalizing a deal with the Argentine talent Claudio Echeverri, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
According to sources, the "Citizens" will pay approximately 25 million euros, which is the stipulated release clause. The teams are still discussing the best terms for payment. However, an agreement will be reached, and the player will remain at River Plate on loan.
A product of the River Plate club's football academy, Echeverri made his first-team debut on June 22, 2023, in an Argentine Primera match against Instituto. He debuted for the Argentina U-17 national team in 2022. In the spring of 2023, he played in the South American U-17 Championship, scoring five goals in the tournament.
In November 2023, Echeverri participated in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, scoring goals in matches against Japan and Venezuela and achieving a hat-trick in the quarterfinal against Brazil.
