Legendary striker Sergio Agüero has unveiled the inside story behind one of the Premier League’s most sensational transfers that never happened.

At the time, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was actively searching for a replacement for the outgoing Diego Costa and saw Agüero as the perfect leader for his attacking line.
All the terms of the transfer were practically agreed, and the Argentine was ready to make the move to London. However, Manchester City’s management vetoed the switch at the last moment, refusing to strengthen a direct rival with their top striker.
Notably, Agüero became a true club legend for the Citizens, making 390 appearances, scoring 260 goals, and providing 65 assists.
