Man United set to hold talks with top coach if ten Hag is dismissed

The future of Erik ten Hag as Manchester United's head coach looks increasingly uncertain following four matches without a win. The Dutchman has been given two games to turn things around, and with one of those already ending in disappointment, the club's management might start looking for a new coach.

According to The I, Manchester United could revisit the option of Thomas Tuchel, who was in discussions with the club this summer. However, negotiations fell through due to disagreements over the level of control Tuchel would have and the financial package on offer.

Another favored candidate among INEOS executives is former England manager Gareth Southgate, praised for his ability to rebuild teams and his expertise in knockout tournament formats.

It’s also noted that Ten Hag’s assistant, Ruud van Nistelrooy, could step in as interim manager while the club searches for a permanent solution.
