Manchester City is currently facing numerous investigations. Some are being conducted by the Premier League, while others have extended beyond football authorities.

Details: As revealed by La Liga president Javier Tebas, Manchester City is under investigation by the European Commission due to alleged manipulations similar to the Enron scandal in the early 21st century.

Quote:

“All they do is think about how to circumvent rules and regulations. We reported this to the European Union, providing facts and figures.

The UK may not be part of the EU, but City conducts business in Europe, and the EU regulation from July 2023 states that they can investigate companies benefiting from state support, regardless of whether they are in the EU or not.

Therefore, we requested an investigation into City. It is crucial that all clubs adhere to the same rules of transparency and governance, both from a sporting and financial perspective.

We have not received a response, so the case must be under investigation. City's case is an instance where we believe they have imposed losses on companies that are not officially part of the City Football Group,” Tebas stated while speaking at the Financial Times Business of Football summit.

Reminder: Previously, Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola stated that the verdict in the case of 115 Financial Fair Play violations will be delivered in March.
