Man City and Newcastle are keeping tabs on the goalkeeper who stopped Real Madrid
Lille delivered the standout shock of the second round of the Champions League, defeating Real Madrid on home turf. Goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, who kept a clean sheet, has now attracted the interest of two top Premier League clubs.
Details: According to TBR Football, scouts from both Manchester City and Newcastle have been closely monitoring Chevalier's performances. Both clubs are looking for long-term reinforcement in the goalkeeper position, with Chevalier being one of their primary targets.
This comes amidst growing rumors over the summer regarding interest in Manchester City’s first-choice keeper, Ederson. The club is keen to have a strong alternative ready to potentially succeed the Brazilian.
The 22-year-old Chevalier is a product of Lille’s academy and has already made 91 appearances for the club.
Reminder: The defeat to Lille marked Real Madrid’s first loss of the season across all competitions.
