Mamelodi Sundowns' Teboho Mokoena says his team are taking it one game at the time as pressure at the top of the PSL standings starts to creep in
Teboho Mokoena does not want Mamelodi Sundowns to rest on their laurels.
That they are on top of the Betway Premiership table should give Mokoena the confidence they will defend the title they won last season.
And having overtaken Orlando Pirates on top of the PSL standings should also be a reason enough for Sundowns to express some boastfulness about their abilities in the PSL.
Ahead of their fixture against Sekhukhune United this evening, Mokoena cautioned his team are taking it one game at a time.
“We take one game at a time,” said Mokoena told the Sundowns media.
Mokoena said they are not oblivious of the fact that they need to extend their lead atop of the Betway Premiership standing as they are equal on points with Pirates having played a game more.
Sundowns and Pirates are on 29 points and Miguel Cardoso’s men have a chance to extend that gap tonight.
This evening they face Babina Noko who drew goalless with Pirates last Saturday at the same Peter Mokaba Stadium venue tonight.
“Of course we are aware of the log standings, but we just take it one game at a time. Both teams are motivated, I think. And I also think Sekhukhune played well against Orlando Pirates and they are a good side.
“It won’t be an easy game for us but if we can show up and match their hunger and our quality for sure will suffice.”
The game starts at 7.30pm.
