Mamelodi Sundowns lost to Dortmund. What do they need to reach the playoffs?

In the second round of the Club World Cup group stage, Mamelodi Sundowns fell to Borussia Dortmund with a 3-4 defeat. This victory propelled the German side to the top of the group, knocking the South Africans down from first place.
The other match in Group F’s second round will take place in the early hours of Sunday, June 22: Fluminense will face Ulsan Hyundai. Sundowns will play their final group stage match against the Brazilian club.
A win for Sundowns will guarantee them a spot in the round of 16, but there’s also a scenario where a draw could be enough. For that to happen, Fluminense must not beat Ulsan.
If the match between the Brazilian club and the South Korean side ends in a draw or a Hyundai win, Sundowns will only need a single point in the third round (few believe Ulsan could beat Dortmund) to finish second in the group and advance to the playoffs. Otherwise, they’ll need nothing short of a victory over Fluminense in their head-to-head clash on June 25.
