Mamelodi Sudnowns enter the race to bring Cassius Mailula to the club

Out of contract striker Cassius Mailula has attracted Mamelodi Sundowns' interest.

Mailula was released by MLS side FC Toronto recently and has become a subject of speculation with Betway Premiership sides seeking his signature.

Kaizer Chiefs are said to be keen on the speedy striker who left South Africa three seasons ago for the USA.

While he left the country on a high, Mailula found the going tough in the USA and he was sent out on loan on two occasions.

The first loan move was in Morocco's Wydad Casablanca with the last one being at Belgium's KV Kortrijk.

As those moves failed to yield any positives, FC Toronto then decided to give the striker the boot which now has attracted Sundowns' interest.

After all, he is their former player, and Sundowns just released Peter Shalulile which makes space for Mailula.
