Major trouble! Ligue 1 could lose its sponsor
Ligue 1 secured a title sponsor for this season, but the partnership now appears far from ideal and could come to an end after the current campaign.
Details: According to L'Équipe, under the current circumstances and terms, extending the collaboration between McDonald’s and Ligue 1 looks highly unlikely. The contract runs until the end of next season, but early signs already point to a lack of optimism.
At present, McDonald’s is paying €30 million per year.
Meanwhile, a high-profile and controversial legal battle between French club Nantes and Welsh side Cardiff, concerning the transfer of the late forward Emiliano Sala, has recently concluded.
Reminder: The Professional Football League decided to support PSG by rescheduling their match against Lens. Lens opposed the decision, but the fixture will not take place as originally planned.
