The Democratic Republic of Congo national team is gearing up for the crucial stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and is actively working to strengthen its squad. According to Foot Mercato, two new players—Willy Kambwala and Warren Bondo—are set to receive call-ups to the national team in the near future.

Reports indicate that Kambwala from Villarreal and Bondo from AC Milan (currently on loan at Cremonese), both of whom previously played for France's youth national teams, are close to switching their sporting nationality. The federation has already compiled an extended shortlist of potential newcomers, featuring more than ten names.

Among other candidates are Nottingham Forest's Dylan Bakwa and Arnaud Kalimuendo from Eintracht. The list also includes Anthony Milambo, Bradley Lokko, Samuel Mbangula, Anthony Musaba, Ezekiel Banzuzi, Jordi and Jean-Victor Makengo, Marc Bola, Obed Nkambadio, and Alonzo Engwanda.

As a reminder, in March, the "Leopards" will face the intercontinental playoff final for a spot at the World Cup. Their opponent will be either Jamaica or New Caledonia. Should DR Congo qualify, they will be drawn into Group C, where they will play against Portugal, Uzbekistan, and Colombia.
