Magesi FC Captain Calls for Unity and Hard Work Amidst Leadership Change
Despite the recent resignation of coach Clinton Larsen, Magesi FC captain Elvis Chipezeze has challenged his colleagues to remain committed to enhancing their season. The Zimbabwean player emphasized the need of being together and putting in a lot of effort to escape the relegation zone. The squad is preparing for its 2025 season opener against TS Galaxy.
“It’s tough, but as players, we have a job to do,” Chipezeze stated. “We can no longer talk about who has left; we must focus on the now. Right now, we’re rock bottom, and it’s on us to find solutions and work our way out of this situation.”
Larsen, who led Magesi FC to historic milestones, including retaining their second-tier status, winning the Carling Knockout Cup, and earning promotion to the top flight, recently stepped down following their Carling Cup loss to the All Stars. Veteran coach Owen da Gama has since taken the reins.
Chipezeze, instrumental in their domestic cup victory with four Man of the Match awards, urged his team to redouble their efforts. “We can’t hope for things to change without putting in the work. It’s hard work from now until the season ends.”
The Limpopo-based side now faces a critical phase as they aim to reverse their fortunes in the new year.
