Magesi FC boosts survival hopes with a 2-0 victory which dents Cape Town City's aim of earning promotion
Magesi FC beat Cape Town City 2-0 today to boost their Betway Premiership survival hopes via the PSL Promotional/Relegation Play-Off match.
This game was a must win for City who lost their first game in midweek against fellow National First Division side Mildford FC.
But it was not to be as Allan Freese's troops earn a home victory and maximum points.
Mncedisi Vandala scored from the spot kick and Edmore Chirambandare netted in the second half.
City were lethargic in this match at Seshego Stadium as the home crown was vocal in ensuring the visitors do not have space to breathe.
And their efforts were dealt a huge blow when Kayden Francis was sent off at the death and the player will no miss City's two remaining games.
Magesi are on top of the three-team mini league as they scored more than Milford FC and the match will see both sides face each other.
City will be hoping that game ends in a draw so they can have an outside chance of having an opportunity to return challenge for a place in the PSL next season.
