Details: According to DiarioAS, the Valencia court has delivered its final verdict for 29-year-old Spanish striker Rafa Mir of Elche in a case involving rape and grievous bodily harm.
The report states that the court took all aspects of the crime into account and sentenced Rafa Mir to 8.5 years in prison—7 years for sexual assault and 1.5 years for causing serious bodily injuries.
Additionally, Rafa Mir will be required to pay his victim financial compensation amounting to 64,000 euros.
According to the investigation, Rafa Mir committed the crime against a young woman in September 2024 at the Torre-en-Conil residential complex in the municipality of Bétera, Valencia, as reported by the press service of the Superior Court of the Valencian Community.
Rafa Mir is a Sevilla player, having joined from Wolverhampton in 2021 for 16 million euros. Last season, Rafa Mir played for Elche on loan, featuring in 29 matches and scoring 8 goals.
