Paulo Fonseca's squad will be unable to register new players until 2026.

Details: FIFA has banned Lyon from registering new players for the next three transfer windows. The reason? An outstanding debt of €2,000 due to unpaid transfer fees.

The club's management has already clarified the situation, attributing it to a misunderstanding and human error. They also stated that the debt has now been settled. Lyon's leadership expressed hope that the transfer ban would soon be lifted.

Last season was far from successful for the team: a club accustomed to battling for gold medals finished only sixth in the French championship. Nevertheless, this will still allow them to compete in European competitions.

Reminder: FIFA was accused of failed reforms following the recent crisis within the organization.
