Lunin not ready? Real Madrid find Courtois' successor
Real Madrid have added Brighton & Hove Albion and Netherlands goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen to their list of potential candidates to replace Thibaut Courtois.
Details: According to journalist Ben Fernandes Santos, the 24-year-old goalkeeper has caught the attention of Los Blancos' scouting department with his assured performances in the Premier League. However, the Madrid club have not made an official offer or entered into negotiations at this stage.
Verbruggen's market value is estimated at around €40 million, while his current contract with Brighton runs until the summer of 2028. Real Madrid are in no rush to take concrete steps, as 34-year-old Thibaut Courtois is close to extending his own contract with the club until 2028, leaving the Dutchman as merely a long-term target for now.
This season, Verbruggen has played 13 matches, keeping a clean sheet in ten of them and conceding just seven goals. The goalkeeper has shown a high level of skill between the sticks and continues to improve with each season at Brighton.
