Luis Suárez suspended for striking opponent, will miss decisive match in series against Nashville
Inter Miami forward Luis Suárez will be sidelined for the crucial playoff match against Nashville.
Details: The MLS Disciplinary Committee has ruled to suspend Luis Suárez following an incident in the second game of the series. The event occurred in the 71st minute, when, off the ball, he struck Nashville defender Andy Najar.
The referee did not notice the infraction, but upon review, the committee deemed the incident worthy of a straight red card. Miami's appeal was rejected, meaning Suárez will miss the third and decisive game of the series.
This marks Suárez's second suspension in recent months. Previously, he received a lengthy ban following an incident after the Leagues Cup final against Seattle, where he spat in the direction of an opposing security staff member. On that occasion, Suárez was handed a six-match suspension in the Leagues Cup and an additional three in MLS.
Reminder: Galatasaray is looking to sign Inter Miami winger Lionel Messi.
