Turkish football has been rocked by a sensational rumor: Galatasaray is seriously targeting the signing of global football superstar Lionel Messi.
Details: According to Turkish journalist Zeki Uzundurukan, the Istanbul club has already made contact with the Argentine star. Galatasaray wants to bring Messi in for just four months, during the MLS offseason.
The journalist reports that the club has set its sights on one of the greatest footballers of all time:
"The club's scouting team has been monitoring Messi's situation for a long time," Uzundurukan noted, adding that the management is ready to do whatever it takes to make the deal happen.
According to the journalist, a financial plan is already in place. Messi's salary in MLS is about 10 million euros per year, and Galatasaray's management has stated they are prepared to cover that amount.
"We will pay," the journalist quotes club representatives as saying.
Reminder: Saudi Arabia rejected the offer to sign Lionel Messi during the MLS break.
