Lucas Ribeiro Costa fast becoming a match winner for his Spanish side. Cultural Leonesa profiting from Ribeiro's goals
Lucas Ribeiro Costa is fast becoming a match winner for his Spanish club Cultural Leonesa like he did when he was playing for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Yesterday, the Brazilian scored a winning goal for his LaLiga 2 side against Malaga – a former La Liga team – in a game which saw Leonesa move away from the drop zone.
This is the second time in three games the left-footed forward scores a decider for his side and this just shows how important he is becoming.
Ribeiro left Sundowns in the off-season by terminating his contract at Chloorkop yet his case is still in front of the Fifa Tribunal.
It’s interesting how it will turn out as the player was issued with his clearance by Fifa, clearing him to join the Spanish side.
Now he has scored two goals in seven games for Leonesa and also received a Puskas nomination for his Sundowns goal against Borrusia Dortmund in the Club World Cup in June.
The goal which saw him run from halfway line to score is nominated among some of the biggest names in world football as Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Arsenal’s Declan Rice are nominees in this category.
