Love the Portuguese? Milan could replace Fonseca with his compatriot
Milan have had a poor start to the new Serie A season, picking up just two points in three league games under Paulo Fonseca, who replaced Stefano Pioli in the summer. This has fuelled rumours of the Portuguese's possible resignation and the press are already speculating on who could replace him.
The Calciomercato publication assures that bosses on the San Siro have full confidence in Fonseca, but three matches will tell all: against Venice and Inter in Serie A, as well as Liverpool in the Champions League. If Milan fails there, the ex-Roma coach could then be sent into resignation.
It is thought that if it comes to that, Fonseca could be replaced by his compatriot Paulo Sousa, who is currently working in the UAE with Shabab Al Ahli club. But if he gets the call from Milan, he will not be indifferent. The release clause, which is spelt out in the Portuguese's contract, could also help him.
