Lost more than £800,000. Tottenham player Yves Bissouma falls victim to major fraud
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has lost over £800,000 due to a scam involving his VIP account.
Details: According to The Sun, more than £800,000—specifically, £834,000—vanished from Bissouma's VIP account at Coutts bank between September 2022 and June 2024. The alleged perpetrator is Maurice Gomes, who has been charged with two counts of fraud involving false information. For each of these offenses, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
Reports say this incident has had a significant impact on the player. Earlier, in Cannes, Bissouma had his wristwatch—worth £255,000—stolen in June.
Bissouma, who has been with Tottenham since 2022, may be called to testify in court if the case goes to trial. Coutts bank has so far declined to comment.
This season, the Malian has not played a single match for the London club due to a knee injury.
Recall: Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie was threatened with a firearm in London.
