The player's condition worsened in recent days, preventing him from traveling with the team to Munich for the match against Bayern. Earlier, the club confirmed that his absence was due to a viral infection.
It is reported that over just a few days of illness, which was accompanied by severe vomiting, Asensio lost around six kilograms. With no improvement in his condition, the decision was made to send the player to a medical facility for more thorough evaluation.
It's worth noting that health issues have become a recurring problem for him this season. This is at least the fourth time the footballer has been sidelined due to viral or gastrointestinal infections. Previously, he had already missed matches due to gastroenteritis, high fever, and the flu.
