Barcelona have received a massive squad boost ahead of the next round of La Liga: attacking leader Raphinha and midfielder Frenkie de Jong have fully recovered from their injuries and are ready to feature in the upcoming match.

Details: The Blaugrana head coach Hansi Flick confirmed that the key players have returned to full-team training, but stressed the need to carefully manage their physical workload.

“Raphinha is ready. But from my side, we have to take it step by step. We have a lot of matches ahead in the coming days and weeks, so we need to proceed with caution and manage the number of minutes he spends on the pitch,” the German coach said at the pre-match press conference.

The return of the Dutch midfielder, who missed the opening weeks of the season due to health problems, was equally significant for the structure of Barcelona’s team play.

“Frenkie de Jong is a top-level player, so I’m glad he’s back and ready to play. It gives us one more option,” Flick added ahead of Saturday’s battle with Betis.

It is worth noting that both players are fundamental to the Blaugrana’s attacking structure this season. The Brazilian winger had hit phenomenal form, registering fourteen goals and three assists in all competitions before his enforced layoff, while the return of the composed De Jong in midfield significantly expands the team’s tactical options ahead of a crucial run of fixtures in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
