London's Chelsea has set its sights on an Inter player!
Chelsea are weighing up a marquee winter move for Inter Milan and Italy central defender Alessandro Bastoni, who turned 27.
Details: According to Corriere dello Sport, manager Xabi Alonso is personally pushing to sign the Italian defender. The Spanish coach wants Bastoni in his defensive setup as early as January, and the London club are prepared to meet the financial demands of Inter, who value their key man at €80m.
Barcelona were previously in the race for Bastoni, but the Milan side's valuation priced the Blaugrana out of a deal. The Catalans were forced to pull out of the race and turn their attention to more affordable alternatives in the transfer market.
Bastoni's current contract with the Italian champions runs until 2028, with Transfermarkt valuing the defender at €65 million. In the 2026/27 season, he has featured in all four matches without registering a goal or assist.
