Jurgen Klopp faced significant squad issues ahead of the match, with a dozen players sidelined due to injuries. Consequently, the Merseyside team fielded an experimental lineup for the home fixture.

The second half saw the emergence of 18-year-old Jayden Danns. The young forward made a significant impact, scoring a brace within 15 minutes of play.
Jurgen Klopp's side secured a comfortable victory, progressing to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. In this stage, they will face their arch-rivals, Manchester United. The quarterfinal matches are scheduled for March 16-17.
