Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz has been heavily linked with Liverpool in recent weeks, but only now have the Reds officially approached his club with a concrete offer.
Details: According to Sky Sports, the "Pharmacists" have received a transfer bid from England worth £105 million for Wirtz. It is not specified how Bayer has responded to the offer, but it is known that the German club is hoping to secure around £125 million for their star midfielder.
If Liverpool agrees to meet Bayer's terms, the deal would set a new transfer record for English football. The current record belongs to Enzo Fernandez's move from Benfica to Chelsea for £107 million in the summer of 2025.
Recall: Last season, Wirtz scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in 25 matches, helping his team secure second place behind Bayern Munich. The "Rekordmeister" also pursued the midfielder, and were reportedly frustrated by his refusal to move to the Allianz Arena.
