The match between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield ended in a 1:1 draw, leaving Arsenal in the top position.

Manchester United legend and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville believes that Jurgen Klopp can be proud of Liverpool's performance. He also expressed the opinion that there could have been a penalty in the episode involving Jeremy Doku in injury time.

"There's so much mutual respect. Pep Guardiola smiles and so does Jurgen Klopp. The City fans behind the goal know they've been punched really hard in that second half.

They've withstood a lot. Klopp will be proud of his team. They were much better in the second half but the title battle gets bumped down the road to the weeks ahead. It's something to really look forward to.

Doku is very lucky. I thought he was in trouble." said Neville.

Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher, in his commentary on Sky Sports, praised the excellent coaching work of Klopp and Guardiola.

"What a game. Both teams should be proud of how they performed. What these two managers have given us over the last six or seven years has been outstanding. They're both going to go to the wire, along with Arsenal.

Penalty? It was a moment of madness from the goalkeeper. Fair play to Nunez, he reads it from Ake but he just comes flying across. He has these moments every now and again in different situations where he comes flying out and gets himself involved."

Former Manchester United player and Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane believes that Liverpool was closer to victory and may be disappointed with the result.

"I've tired myself out watching that. Liverpool played with great quality and they had the better chances in the second half. They had two great chances and they may come to regret that.

Ederson is an all-or-nothing character. When he reads it, he's fantastic but when he gets it wrong, the downside is not only the goal but the injury".

As a result of the match, Liverpool, with 64 points, conceded the top spot to Arsenal due to a better goal difference. Manchester City sits third with 63 points.
