Liverpool Linked with Lyon Midfielder and Ajax Defender
Liverpool are being linked with several potential new signings ahead of the January transfer window, with less than two months to go until it opens.
Details: According to reports from Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside club is showing interest in Lyon midfielder Ryan Cherki.
Notably, Lyon president John Textor has acknowledged that Cherki's future at the club is now uncertain, as they are facing a real threat of relegation from Ligue 1.
Rumors had suggested that the 21-year-old Cherki was on Liverpool's radar during the recent summer window, at least until Federico Chiesa's move from Juventus materialized.
Liverpool are also said to be monitoring Ajax defender Jorrel Hato. The Reds have reportedly identified the central defender as one of their top transfer targets for next summer.
It remains unclear whether Liverpool will try to secure Hato's signature in January or wait until the summer. However, it is claimed that the 18-year-old is viewed as a potential long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
Recall: Liverpool are the sole leaders in the EPL table after 11 rounds. On 24 November, Arne Slot's team will play against Southampton away.
