Liverpool held a secret meeting with representatives of Xabi Alonso

Liverpool suffered a 2–3 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League, and rumours about a possible change of head coach have already begun to circulate.

Details: According to indykaila News, Liverpool representatives held a secret meeting with Xabi Alonso’s entourage. They discussed the details of Alonso’s tactical approach and summer transfer targets. Alonso reportedly named several players he would like to see at Liverpool.

It is worth noting that we previously reported that Liverpool representatives had asked whether Alonso would consider a return to the club and received a positive response, although the coach is currently on a break after his spell at Real Madrid.

Back in the spring of 2024, Alonso rejected offers from both Bayern and Liverpool, instead deciding to continue his development at Bayer.

Recall: Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson may begin considering his next club, as his contract expires in the summer of 2026. However, one potential move has been put on hold.
