In recent years, Benfica has consistently sold its players to top-tier clubs for significant sums, and the next player likely to follow this trend appears to be left-back Álvaro Carreras.
Details: According to O Jogo, Liverpool has entered the race for the Spanish defender, as they are seeking a long-term replacement for Andrew Robertson.
In addition to Liverpool, both Real Madrid and Barcelona are monitoring Carreras' progress, with both clubs in search of a new left-back.
Carreras' contract with Benfica includes a release clause valued at €50 million.
Interestingly, the 21-year-old only joined Benfica last summer from Manchester United for just €6 million.
Reminder: It was also recently reported that Liverpool is considering Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
