Liverpool has been one of the least active top European clubs in the transfer market this summer. The Reds have yet to sign any new players, but they are on the verge of completing one key transfer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool is in the final stages of acquiring goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia for €30 million. However, Mamardashvili will not join Liverpool until the summer of 2025. The club's current first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson, remains firmly in place, and Liverpool has no plans to replace him this season.

Once the deal is finalized, Mamardashvili will remain on loan at Valencia for another season. He has already made an appearance this season, playing in a 2-1 home loss to Barcelona.

Mamardashvili was one of the standout performers at Euro 2024, where he helped the Georgian national team reach the Round of 16 in a surprising run. To date, he has made 101 appearances for Valencia, keeping 31 clean sheets.

Liverpool kicked off their new Premier League season with a 2-0 victory over Ipswich.
