"Liverpool got the best." Klopp is delighted that Slot has been chosen as his team's new coach

In January, Jürgen Klopp shocked the football world by announcing his decision to leave Liverpool after nine years at Anfield. The club immediately began searching for his replacement and, after considering several candidates, settled on Arne Slot.

The Dutchman was introduced as the new manager at the beginning of the summer, and Klopp, along with the fans, chanted his name after the final match at Anfield.

Currently, Klopp is without a job and has turned down several offers from around the world. The German has stated that he hasn't yet decided whether he will return to coaching.

However, he expressed his happiness that Liverpool appointed Slot as his successor. Speaking to ESPN Netherlands, Klopp said:

"Arne, yes. A really good coach. I was very pleased when I heard that Liverpool was going after Arne Slot. I wasn't involved in any of it—that's not how it should be, and I'm not the guy behind the scenes with connections and all that. I don't need that. The club is too big, too good. [These] people are too good.

A lot has changed since I left. But I was only concerned with one thing: would they get a good coach? Liverpool moved early, and Liverpool got the best. The best! The best decision in the form of Arne Slot."

He added:

"I don't miss the job, [but] I miss all the people there. We can see each other whenever we want in the future."

It's worth noting that Jürgen Klopp will return to coaching in the near future, but only for a single match.
