Liverpool defeated Newcastle in the high-scoring match

The leader of the English Premier League, Liverpool, defeated Newcastle United in the first match in 2024. This game took place in the twentieth round of the EPL.

Merseysiders were considered the favourites of the meeting, but in the first half they could not realize their advantage: the teams went to the break with the score 0:0 on the scoreboard. The best chance to score came from Mohamed Salah, who failed to score from the penalty spot.
