Liverpool's captain and central defender, Virgil van Dijk, revealed that he has been playing in recent matches with a difficult finger dislocation. He sustained this injury during the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals against Atalanta (1-0).

"In the first minute against Atalanta it was pointing in the wrong direction. It’s dislocated, yeah. I did it once before against Norway with Netherlands. It’s only a finger!", van Dijk stated, as quoted by BBC.

Recall that after the Atalanta game, Liverpool won away against Fulham in the English Premier League with a score of 3-1.

In the current season, van Dijk has played 43 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists.

With five rounds remaining in the Premier League season, Liverpool sits in second place, trailing Manchester City by just 1 point with City having a game in hand.
