Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has given Albiceleste fans plenty to worry about with his latest statement.

Details: According to The Touchline, the manager revealed that the enforced replacement of injured defender Leonardo Balerdi may not be the only change in the final squad list for the 2026 World Cup. The fitness of several players remains uncertain, forcing the coaching staff to consider some bold decisions.

Scaloni candidly admitted that the team is facing serious issues ahead of the tournament kickoff:

"Not all of our players are at 100% right now. We may have to add to the squad not just a central defender."

This means that players from other positions are also at risk of missing out, as their current condition is raising significant concerns among the medical staff.

Despite the tension in the air, Scaloni called for calm and insisted there is no reason to panic just yet.

"We haven't decided on a replacement yet. There is no need to panic, but several players are still not in optimal shape. We have one more match to assess the situation and gather more information, so we're not going to rush any decisions," Scaloni emphasized.

It should be noted that Argentina will face Algeria, Austria, and Jordan at the World Cup.

Reminder: It has been revealed whether Lionel Messi will play for Argentina in friendlies ahead of the World Cup.
