Lionel Messi saves Inter Miami from defeat in Charlotte with his goal
Today, in a regular MLS season match, Inter Miami hosted Charlotte. All the key players for the home side were in the starting lineup. Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba anchored the defense, while Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez led the attack.
The first half was evenly contested, but neither team could find the breakthrough. That changed in the second half. In the 57th minute, during a Charlotte attack, Brandt Bronico took a shot from outside the box, but the ball's trajectory was altered just in front of the goal by Karol Świderski, who steered it into the net.
However, the visitors' lead was short-lived. Ten minutes later, Lionel Messi equalized with a precise strike from outside the penalty area.
Both teams continued to press for the winning goal, but neither could convert, and the match ended in a draw.
