Lionel Messi has commented on Luis Suárez's retirement from international football
The legendary Uruguayan striker has announced his retirement from international football.
Lionel Messi, his teammate at Inter Miami, did not let this news go unremarked and shared his thoughts on Instagram.
"You are unique both on and off the pitch. I love you very much," wrote the Argentine.

Suárez made his debut for the Uruguayan national team in February 2007 in a friendly match. He quickly established himself as a key player and was a leading figure alongside Diego Forlán during the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, where he was the team's top scorer.
Overall, Luis Suárez is the all-time leading goal scorer for the Uruguayan national team, having scored 69 goals in 142 matches.
In the 6 World Cup qualifying matches for 2026, Uruguay has amassed 13 points and currently occupies second place behind Argentina.
