Details: Messi posted a photo in his stories with the following text:
"It's disappointing to miss these two special national team matches against Uruguay and Brazil. As always, I wanted to be there, but at the last minute, a minor injury forced me to take a break before the game, and I stayed off the field.
I will be cheering and supporting you like any other fan. Go Argentina!"
After 12 rounds, Argentina leads the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, ahead of Uruguay, who are second, by 5 points.
Reminder: It was previously reported that in the match against Argentina, the legendary Brazilian forward Neymar will not be able to play.
