During the current international break, the Argentina national team will face Uruguay and Brazil, and today they've lost yet another key player.
Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez has officially left the Argentina national team camp. He arrived with muscle discomfort, and the medical staff decided that he will miss both matches.
Initially, it was assumed that Lautaro would only miss the match against Uruguay, but now he has been forced to leave the Argentina camp entirely.
Previously, the legendary Lionel Messi was also excluded from the Argentina squad. Roma forward Paulo Dybala couldn't join the team either.
Scaloni and his coaching staff will decide in the coming hours who will replace Lautaro Martinez in the team. With Julian Alvarez and Nicolas Gonzalez almost guaranteed in the coach's scheme, the potential replacement for Martinez could fall to one of the called-up forwards: Angel Correa or Thiago Almada.
Nevertheless, young talents Claudio Echeverri and Santiago Castro, who are also on the list, might be considered for this role.
