Liga MX vs Major League Soccer: when and where will the All-Star Game take place?

It was announced today that the 2025 MLS All-Star Game will be held on Wednesday, July 23, at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas.
This highly anticipated event will see the stars of Major League Soccer face off against the standout figures of Liga MX, marking the first time the All-Star Game will be hosted in this city.
The rivalry between MLS and Liga MX continues to intensify, and this game promises to be another significant chapter in their history. The MLS team will consist of 12 players chosen by fan voting, 12 players selected by the MLS All-Star head coach, Nico Estevez, and two more picked by MLS commissioner Don Garber.
Expectations are high for Lionel Messi from Inter Miami to be among the participants, alongside names like Riqui Puig (Los Angeles Galaxy), Miguel Almiron (Atlanta United), Hirving Lozano (San Diego FC), or Wilfried Zaha (Charlotte FC). The selection process for MLS players will be announced later in the season.
As for the Liga MX All-Star team, it will feature 26 players, including the most prominent figures of this competition. Details of the selection process will be revealed soon, with expectations for players like Andre-Pierre Gignac, Mateusz Bogusz, Juan Brunetta, Lucas Ocampos, and Oussama Idrissi, among others.
This will be the fourth edition of this showdown, and MLS will be keen to regain the upper hand after their 2024 defeat, where Liga MX triumphed over the MLS stars with a score of 4-1 at Lower.com Field in Columbus.
The clash will be just part of a week filled with events in Austin, including the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge, an exciting event where MLS and Liga MX stars will compete in various skill challenges, showcasing their abilities in aspects such as ball control, passing, and shooting accuracy.
