Liam Rosenior could soon make football history. What milestone awaits him?
Liam Rosenior has recently taken charge of Chelsea and has already made his debut in the FA Cup, where his side secured a 5–1 victory. Remarkably, he could soon rewrite a unique chapter in football history.
Details: According to Opta, Rosenior could become the first coach in history to oversee his first four matches in charge of a new team across four different competitions. He has already managed a game in the FA Cup, with fixtures in the EFL Cup, the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League still to come. No such case has occurred before.
On Wednesday, January 14, the Blues will play the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final against Arsenal, followed by a Premier League clash with Brentford on January 17, and a match against Pafos on January 21.
Recently, the Football Association charged Chelsea with failing to control their players and staff. The charges relate to behaviour following the match against Aston Villa, which took place on December 27.
Reminder: At the beginning of 2026, Chelsea changed their head coach, with the club now led by 41-year-old Liam Rosenior, who has shared his expectations and ideas regarding the role.
